Mashallah! you speak arabi good
in my experience arabs from any country but Palestine, seem to be impressed with my arabic speaking skills. but anyone from my homeland itself gives me a head shake and a sad look, before commenting
"your mother never tought you arabi?"
whats the deal with that?
why are iraqi's and Saudi's so much easier to impress?
does their accent make my arabic sound better?
is this phenomenon restricted to me?
or does this happen to other palestinians?
how about Iraqis? Do FOBish iraqi's think Western Iraqi's speak gutter bum arabic?
and how can i get these impressed parties to go call my mom and tell her how eloquent i sound to non-palestinian arabs?
I think my mom would be proud to hear it, though she'd probably disagree (she is from palestine after all)

khalas, it's the way of the world, and my lot in life.
i'll accept it fine and dandy, and it give me some seirouls leeway when i need to explain anti-social behavior and generalized rudeness.
not that i'm generally rude or anti-social.... but sometimes, you just gotta let it out, and when people think
"man, he ain't from around here..." they let you get away with more....
i can't tell if that abuses the priveledge
i find arabs are nicer to arab fobs than desi's seem to be to desi fobs.
so there's a plus... score 1 for teh arabs!
