Meeting his Mother for the First time!!

I have been seeing someone for sometime now and finally he wants me to meet his mother! She is coming from abroad specifically to meet me/ and visit her son. I'm trying to decide what would be a proper "hello gift" and a "goodbye gift." I'm very nervous because his mother is very elegant, has most material possessions and has sophisticated tastes!

Please help!!!

I never met "the mom"...Why do I date people whose parents passed away? :(

Sireen, best of luck. I think it's nice of you to get hello and goodbye gifts. I know my friend always gets something for her mom-in-law whenever she comes from Paris...I think once she even got two tickets to a Broadway show, so she can go...with her beloved son. :)

I agree with Buterflie to the point of, your man should be the one helping u out picking the right gift, since he knows his mother best.

I would suggest that a good bye gift would make more sense rather then hello gift...

In any case be ur self and remember if its meant to be it will be.

Good Luck.

Don't be nervous...just be U.

You can buy her something small that she can take back home with her....something that isnt too heavy or wont break.

Maybe a Hello gift of just "flowers"...some really lovely, elegant ones...not too many... a few

A good buy gift of:
A lovely shawl.
A broach
A scarf
A cookbook (if she likes cooking)
A going out purse

Maybe your guy can give you suggestions of what she likes?
