my indie rock band i've put two out of three albums out with is headlining the last night of the fort reno summer concert series this year. for those of you who don't know about it, fort reno is a dc institution, it's been around for 39 years now. it showcases dc bands, and let me tell ya, there are some awesome dc bands out there, past and present. fugazi, dismemberment plan, trans am, velocity girl, thievery corporation, thunderball, el guapo, q and not u, ted leo, and so on.... so it is quite an honour for metropolitan to be headlining, since that had belonged to fugazi for the last decade or so.

fort reno is a couple blocks away from the tenley metro stop, behind the whole foods and accross the school thats back there. for info go to fortreno.com all shows start promptly at 7:15 and end exactly at 9:30. its outdoors so there is no dark dingy smokey club to deal with, people bring thier kids, dogs, picnic baskets, frisbees, and so on.... it is a fun relazed atmosphere and afterward you can walk to guapos on wisconsin avenue and get some good mexican food.

nadiya came to the travis morrison hellfighters show a few weeks ago at fort reno, yay, a fellow naseebster came out and supported, it was sooo nice of her, and she took some cool photos as well. so ask her about it if you have reservations.
