Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Often times (and perhaps it's natural) we befriend people who are most similar to us, whether we do this consciously or subconsciously...it's natural to gravitate towards those who remind us of ourselves and are hence mirror images of us.

How do you feel about people that are not so similar to you? Would you, whether consciously or subconsciously, make an effort to befriend them or would you rather just feel comfortable being around those that accommodate your personal "comfort zone" by being most similar to you?

different people are like the sugar and spice of life. It's not the people who are different that me I have a problem befriending, its people like myself...just kidding!!

I am a shy person (at least when first meeting people)so I feel more comfortable around people similar to me. But I think my comfort zone does extend well beyond people with the same characteristics as myself.

Commonalities are what makes it easy to relate to people. But I feel I can be friends with almost anyone (of course theres always exceptions). You meet people, you act friendly and polite. Sometimes you click with them and become friends, sometimes you don't.

I think I can be friendly to everyone. I don't think I can be friends with everyone.

I have all different kinds of friends. And many of them are not like me at all. They all have good hearts but are very different from one another. I like it that way. Otherwise it would be so boring. If all of us were in the same room and we were all talkative...everyone would be fighting to say their stuff. If we were all good listners, who would talk, if we were all shy, who would break the ice, and if we were all rude jerks, there would be definite chaos....

The "Comfort zone" doesnt sounds very comfortable to me. I would not want to be with someone who is just like me. There wont be any excitement in that.
