Macondo...is the world/town that was created by the south american author gabriel garcia marquez notebly in his story " 100 years of solitude".
He is famous for his magical realist approach to writing. And macondo therefore has been used several times in his other short stories too.
So macondo in the context of this villlage represents a spot where magical realism, his writings can be discussed.
