Farah, I like the Islamic way too....but just make sure that the guy you plan to marry actually is aware of it.......many muslim guys don't completely understand the islamic rulings on such things. I have seen many muslim women's rights not respected by their husbands in terms of financial issues.

wow, so you actually had it planned out, for your deen's sake; what, where, when and how to keep all of you family together and provide for them for the rest of you life. I would disagree with that approach, yes as much as financials are overlooked during marriages, so is the "deen" factor. Who is to judge / decide / credit points for the deen of the other person. Food, clothing, medicine, housing... everything requires $$$. So whats wrong with the spouse checking out your finances to make sure that you would be able to provide for him / her for the rest of the married life the same or better standard of life before marriage.

def. brainsyke. it can't work when one of the partners is immature...cupcakes, yeah money is not the only thing a couple should discuss. we weren't saying that. money is often overlooked when discussing marriage. all i said was it should be included in the responsiblites and expecations discussion.
