"Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony, that's life...
Try to make ends meet , you're a slave to the money then you die."
-"Bitter Sweet Symphony" by The Verve
imo money should be considered as a "means to an end" i think....so you use it to accomplish whatever you want in life (i.e. you're hungry....so you make money to feed yourself). but it becomes a real problem when it transistions to become your motive in life......and i agree w/ the quote:
"its only after you loose everything that you're free to do anything"
just imagine the freedom you would have if you didnt have to worry about stability, maintaining your material possessions (cars, house, et..), et.....another fight club quote:
Money can't buy everything, but it can pay the bills.... I'd rather feel unfullfilled and be rich in life, rather than trying to make ends meet.... See, if I feel unfullfilled, at least I will have the ability to find meaning in my life without much hassle.... I know, its shallow.... but I'm fine with that.... considering my line of profession, I won't be making much - but I won't be hurting for money either....
Here is an excerpt from my profile that explains how I feel about money being a cause of evil:
I believe that Allah created us all equal, and that we do not take our money and material possessions with us to the grave. I believe that we as Muslims living in America have become too materialistic...it is all about winning the rat race and achieving the American dream.
It seems that Desi Muslims that come to America to achieve the American dream and become rich and successful are starting to overlook essential Islamic values, such as being humble, being generous, giving money to the poor, NOT showing off. Also, it seems that the richer a Desi gets, the richer he wants to become. They do not seem satisfied making only $150,000 a year. They cannot stop there. They need to make a lot more....and buy fancy cars, have a fancy house, etc, etc....and it is all about showing off to the rest of the Desi community. NOT IN ALL CASES, but thats what I have observed. So much competition amongst the community.
It also is a pet peeve of mine to see Desi Muslims spending thousands of dollars on watches, when there are Muslims all over the world who do not even have enough money to feed their children.
Does anyone else agree with me?
money IS important, how else will one live? anyone who says its not is flat out lying (sorry)... evil lurks in us and not in what we possess... one can have loads of money, but give out zakat and sadagah in love for Allah... whats evil about that?
how important is it? hmmmmm, lets see, without it you cant go to school, feed yourself, shelter yourself, cloth yourself... should i go on?
Ah... numbers are amazing. Bitwise OR operation of w and y (ASCII code) results to DEL (as in Delete). Thus, it can be concluded that w and y cannot live without each other and are inseperable.
So from corollary 1 and 2 we prove that money and women are a) almost same and b) inseperable.
i'm sure i'd be a much nicer person if i didnt get so stressed at work. and one thing which would make me less stressed would be knowing i could walk away from it any moment and not suffer financially but alas.

Also, money tends to clog up your heart. :P

Tell me about root of evil.. damn so close, almost anagram.
are money and women connected??
but i would argue that money is indeed a root of buggerloads of evil.
as well as a root of many things good.
but yes, i agree Workers of the World Unite, specifically to secure more money for ourselves.
vdare.com
So, I have to say it's too close to call which root is closer to evil.
Money, much like Naseeb eventually connects you to evil people who enslave many.
Workers of the world unite!
