MotoGP is exciting so far!!!
here is a recap if you've missed the races so far, i've enjoyed them very much, and learned allot in the process as well. so far there have been three races:
the race in andalucia at jerez was quite exciting.
the first round bump between rossi and gibernau at the final corner of the final lap, was quite an ending to the inagural race of the season. i think valentino was definately a bit out of control and lucky. gibernau will have to come out of it a bit stronger and not shaken. the spainiard is having some bad luck so far in the GP.
the second round in portugal was a stunner as alex barros the brazilian won. rossi just could not catch up with the man who dominated the entire race and sat on pole postion as well. but the heartbreak story again was sete gibernau, crashing with 12 laps to go after having led the entire race. sete was on fire, and i thought that just maybe he could pull off a win finally.
the last race was in shanghai, china. the first motoGP race in china ever and it was quite an exciting affair. the weather was miserable, raining heavily the entire race, visibility was very low and the track was treacherous for racing. kawasaki had lost a man to an injury and called a man in france who happened to be free for that sunday. that man olivier jaques had quit motoGP for the fun world of european touring cars, on top of it he hadn't touched a motorcycle for 7 months. but it didn't seem like that at the race, he was riding faster than anyone in the race. he was at the back of the pack and had some work to do to get into second place, then the chase was on. rossi's pit crew had to make a hand writton OJ sign for thier board, since no one expected him to be doing so good. after the race jaques told an interviewer how some rain had gotten into his visor affecting his speed" add that to a slight wobble in the final laps and that was just enough for rossi to keep the victory. sete gibernau again did not place, losing his third place spot to his teammate due to another heartbreaking problem, his bike failed mechanically. still got him fourth place somehow. but barely.
next is france, olivier jaques second (and final?) race, since he was a stand in. i hope he takes the top of the podium, it would be quite something else.
