Munich

I saw Munich the other night. It was a good movie. I liked it. It had a very human element to it and some good dialogue. I thought at first it would take a incendiary stand on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It's actually a movie that reveals through the truth of its actions that political murder/assassinations even when it may be justified, is less a solution than a virus, one that infects the attackers as much as the enemy.

It was better done than Syriana.

good point musafir! i didn't pick up on that...but that's typical for jews...they have a history of making enemies with the people that are trying to help them, or with the people that never did anything to them...they've ALWAYS been ungrateful and confused since the beginning of their existence from prophet musa(a.s.) and even the quran states that...

i'm just still flabbergasted cuz crash walked away with the emmy for best picture instead of munich...crash was great but not better than munich

Don't know if it was better than Syriana, since Syriana managed to tackle multiple issues in less time, albeit in a less clear fashion than Munich. Nonetheless, I think Munich was actually very well written. Considering it's a Speilberg production, I was a bit surprised to actually hear discussion of the Palestinian struggle. I think one of the best lines in the movie was when Ali told Avner: "My grandfather didn't gas any Jews." Most Americans have forgotten that this battle was brought to the Arabs. The Jews were persecuted throughout Europe, killed by the millions in Germany; yet today their greatest enemy is the Arab World? I'm glad they pointed out this irony.
