Muslim Honeymoons.....

I was just wondering for Muslim people who get married in the west, what are your options for honeymoons....In libya its pretty simple....you just go across the border to Egypt lol. But here, what do people do? And what places are out there where a hijabi girl can have fun and enjoy with her hubby???........................... ..love to hear from ya'll. Name me different places k?

i've visited Copenhagen in Denmark and Zurich in Switzerland. both EXTRAORDINARY in beauty, i went with my family, but i'm sure it would be perfect for a honeymoon destination, thats acually where my parents honeymooned. i should warn you though they are very expensive and the language is difficult, and they definitley will stare if your a mu7ajaba. cause from what i saw nudity was EVERYWHERE. anyways let us know when you decide on something.

I'm leaning towards Turkey a lot, one of the main reasons, two of my cousins went to it and they just bragg about how beautiful it is, they made it sound amazing wallahi.

TUNIS???.....ummm...I never wanna go to tunis. My friends are tunisian and after you hear what they do to hijabi girls over there...ya allah. Definitely not on my list.

And Japan????...ummm...I don't know. Definitely a different culture. I'll probably be the tallest person there. Ummm....when baba was there he was telling us about this place where it showed you how silk is made by these ants or somethign like that.......but japan is also not a place I would go to.

Lebanon.....ummm.....I don't know. Not so crazy about it either. Just doesn't appeal to me.

This is so hard wallahi. This needs research.

First of all, I think a hijabi girl can enjoy her hubby anywhere-- on honey-moon or not. It just depends on what/where both are interested in.

I think Alexandria is one of the most beautiful places on the Mediterranean--there's a reason Libyans go there on honey-moons and vacations. The private beaches are gorgeous, the architecture is glorious (especially in a historical context), and people totally understand the concept of a honey-moon Muslim style.

Other places I'd just love to go to that have NOT been mentioned:

* Lebanon (Beirut specifically, but other places also)
* Tunis
* Japan
* Italy (Central and Northern may actually be more
tolerant of hijabis)
* France (except for their wierd issue with hijab)
* Denmark
* Brazil
* Mexico
* Venezuela

It ultimately depends on what you want from the honey-moon, doesn't it? Is it just an opportunity to have an all expenses paid vacation or is it a crash course of getting to know each other? Do the couple want all kinds of external (good & bad) stimulation or is it time to get used to each other?

I'm also super into all the suggestions made before mine--I just didn't want to be redundant. I say enjoy whatever you can! The world is your oyster.

what is there to do in turkey? Other than visiting the beautiful historic sites that it has to offers. The HQ for the Ottoman Empire, it has some of the most beautiful mosques and buildings in the world. Its also beautifully located on the Medditeranean Sea, so beaches, beaches, beaches, and its coastline is pretty massive, so you'll prolly be able to find private beaches. Another benefit is that its really close to some other fun countries to visit such as greece and lebanon and syria from the arab end. And some pretty awesome islands like cyprus and crete. But I still vote for Spain and a whole western europe thing that would also include france, for its galleries, and Italy for its natural beauty...

one of my pakistani friends went to Indonesia and Singapore. I would go to Spain, beautiful country with beautiful islamic history, and then u could head on down to morocco, and if u really wanted to, libya is just a couple of hours flight away. A dream honeymoon would be on one of those resort islands in the pacific (e.g. bora bora).

welll most of ma friends who have gotten married (arabs and non arabs) always go out of the country, they go Turkey, Dubai, Egypt, basically any other palce besides here and none of them, at least not tht i know of have gone to a non-muslim coutnry for thier honeymoons, dont know why. or in the case of the non arabs, for example on of ma friends is from pakistan and for her honeymoon they went back home, had a second weddin there and basically spent a month there. in the end i think it really depends on the couple.
