Assalamu Alaikum,
Donia I understand your position and I would have felt the same way too had I not known how the event is structured. Actually some people who attended last year also told us the same until they attended the event and saw how it went.. Imam Yassir our host masha-Allah is very funny, he does standup comedy and he makes everyone feel at ease, and conversations at the event occur in groups of 10 people/table (including a young husband/wife moderators) so that way people are buddied up and there is no pressure, and the type of conversation is in the icebreaker category where people feel motivated about answering and pitching in.. Insha-Allah we may post some comments from the feedbacks we got last year on the website.

peace out
edgard

Hey Razi Am I gonna get a sa7en konafay when I come to Brookfield, Illinois for helping ya out here? :)

Donia-rabee3 :Now I don't know about you guys but this is one of the few events that I wouldn't feel comfortable going to at all.I don't think there is any problem with it at all but for me it's just not a healthy environment to be in. Good luck for whoever is going :)

Donia-rabee3 :No comments ya ibni, you'll get it as you grow older.

Donia-rabee3 :I agree with you Haz.Eventhough I wanted to state my opinion about this kind of gathering but I really appreciate all the efforts put in events that bring muslims together. What doesn't work for someone doesn't mean it doesn't work for another
