Muslim/Jewish Arts exchange CAFE FINJAN 7/14

CAF? FINJAN is a series of interfaith arts exchanges, begun in 2004 by the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs as part of its Jewish-Muslim Community-Building Initiative. The series creates spaces for Chicagoland Jews, Muslims, and others of diverse backgrounds to come together and give voice to their identity and experience as part of a larger community.

"Finjan," a word in both Arabic and Hebrew, is a metal pot for brewing coffee in the traditional Middle Eastern style, not only in the home, but also on a campfire, with comrades gathered around for warmth.

umm folks, I know this isn't a music concert or a beef restaurant but this is something VERY important, I know we are a community that is interested in more than SIMPLY entertainment, I would like some discussion on this seriously hard worked interfaith meeting and a good crowd, we need Muslims to support or else it is shameful that we cannot get our own people to attend an interfaith event. I have already gotten preliminary numbers from the Jewish folk who tell me atleast 50 Jews will be in attendance....come out and support.

Folks! This is a very important event, it took a lot of effort on the part of both Muslim and Jewish individuals to start this community building initiative. It is a great outreach effort and helps our diversity, I urge Chicagoland Muslims to seriously take some time out and support this initiative, to support the Muslim artists that will be there, it would simply be too embarrassing if the place was full of Jewish people and our community did not represent. Helps us, (CAMP, CAIR, MBA) and a host of great orginizations represent our community in this historic initiative. Thanks!!
