5 solutions to 5 of our problems
I am a product of the melting pot theory. I am a proud American and a proud New Yorker. I am also a member of the Muslim community. I am at a loss to explain to my non Muslim friends why on earth Muslim continue to to resist the productive, beneficial, and democratic influences of American influence in the Middle East, Asia, and throughout much of the world.
So I can only conjecture several possiblities and corresponding solutions:
1-Muslims, especially recent immigrants from Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh, and their offspring in Europe and North America are resisting cultural assimilation.
They are suffering from an identity crisis. The only remedy is to either
deport them if they do not choose to fully assimilate (give up speaking their languages and dressing in their quaint native costumes), or help them assimilate through classes funded by the government or private investment.
2-Muslims, especially South Asians continue to have a high birth rate even though birth rates have fallen among the rest of the population. This is a dangerous trend which could have long-term implications for the demographic composition of the United States.
South Asian families should be encouraged to use birth control and they should be encouraged to open small businesses or go into the corporate sector. Only then can we ensure that they make good citizens and are politically safe from the influence of Jihadist Islam.
3-The United States immigration authorities should put a strict quota on the number of ARabs and South Asians and East Asians entering the United States unless economic conditions require otherwise.
Traditionally, immigration policies of this country have been dictated according to economic need. To adjust policy otherwise to meet the demands of fringe groups like the American Cvil Liberites Union and Council on American Ilsamic relations.
4-High taxes on religious schools set up in the United States, especially Islamic schools:
This would discourage parents from isolating their kids from mainstream america and developing into fundamentalists who threaten us and our interests abroad.
5-Limiting the number of visitor visas issued to British and Canadian South Asians, British Pakistanis, Indians, Bangladeshis, Iranians, and Arabs in general
This would defend against any terrorist or inflammatory activities from groups in those countries. It was not too long ago that Pakis blew up the London tube. Know one knows for sure how many British Pakistanis are complicit in those activities but we should learn from the Britain's mistake--homegrown terrorism is POSSIBLE and ACTUAL.
British Pakistanis in particular have proven to be the most susceptible to terrorist influence. This is demonstrated by the identities of the 4 London bombers as well as the "Shoe-Bomber".
Until U.S. authorities are willing to take further steps beyond the Patriot Act, law abiding and fully assimilated Muslims will bear the brunt of ridicule. We will be forced to give endless apologia for our ignorant and backward counterparts who instead of loving this country, have come to ruin things for the rest of us.
Write your senator and congressmen today and tell them to support the measures I've outlined above.
