My GRAND ENTRANCE

hey girls,
I have a major dilemma and I was wondering if you could help me out.

My wedding (pakistani style) is 25 days away and I need a grand entrance. I originally was going to hire a rigger (work for circuses) to have me come down from a swing from the ceiling and then walk down the isle but it totally backfired on me when i was told it was going to be a very ugly appearance with all the equipment, motor, noise, piping etc! I saw it on my sweet 16 and i guess that kind of stuff only happens in cali!

Anyhow, I was wondering if ANYONE has been to any wedding where the entrance was super amazing. I dont want to do the typical come in in a dholi.. I want something different.

please help!!! or else ill just walk down the isle, which is elegant in its own way but I just wish it could have some pizzaz...

any ideas? anything you've seen at a wedding that was different?

thank you for any and all ideas
afsheen

u know ive struggled with a similar issue. being carried in on a doli is so cultural and grand, but walking down the aisle with ur eyes gleaming, as someone mentioned, is so romantic. im saving the doli part for my mehndi, but some ppl tell me that's weird. ne-who, i agree that the swinging idea would look tacky. coming up in a horse and buggy cinderella style, or the doli, are pretty grand and eye-catching in my opinion. dimming lights and spotlight on u is a great idea that someone also mentioned.

people 'typically' come in a dholi?! I've NEVER seen that but in movies. Every wedding I've beeen to they just come walking down the Isle. I think it would be cool to be brought in on a large pedestal type thing with for guys in either corner carry you in and a guy dressed in traditional clothes carrying those big drums playing it loudly infront.

You should come galloping in on a horse...that would be sweet!

I think lighting is everything. When you make your entrance- have them dim the lights down low in the whole hall and then have a spotlight on you . You will glow and your outfit will sparkle and all eyes will be on you. Thats the point, right : )
(Some cool music to go with it would be great as well).

Good luck!
