My Village days
Just now i was trying to relax, aand i kept getting these images of my child hood.
See i grew up in pakistan, and at age 9 I moved to london.
So when i was in pakistan, I lived in Gujrat/Islamabad but each summer or random times we would go stay with our grandparents who lived in a small village called Hirapur, in Gujrat.
So right now, I wish i was back in that village, let me set the scene:
its a late summer night, we are sitting in the porch (soft bricks and grass), and im laying down shaped like a star fish on the char pai...in pakistani style khaki (shalwar kameez), while the walls of the house give room to the night breeze which passes over.
you can smell the wet earth from the cup of water you just emptied to your right, while the ropes on the char pai dig into your body.
im only 4 foot tall so i can easily fit, and the sounds of cricket creeking is as natural as me drinking water from clay cups with a taste of grass. So goood.
Anyone else have any vivid village memories?
( for help in thinking, maybe listen to " Ye Dhuan Sa Kahan " by Mehdi Hassan ) to listen, click media.putfile.com
