Ali KAW and Khidhr (AS).

Though most will deny the fact, even though in doing so they are denying the obvious. (If you have ever read the amazingly eloquent and coherent prayer known as "dua-e-Kumayl", and know that this was Khidhr AS's dua which Ali taught to his sahabi Kumayl - you have to wonder, as I did, where their connection comes from.)

Then there's the record of Khidhr AS asking a series of questions from Ali KAW in the masjid of Kufa. He addressed Imam Ali as "Ya Imam al Mutaqeen", and spoke in an ancient language which Ameer al-Momineen (AS) answered in. When done he gave tasdeeq (verification) that the answers he received could only have come from the Wasi of the Rasool (SAAWW). After this he walked out, and people upon asking realized that they were just graced by the mysterious immortal man.
