Hmmm....Red looks HOT :) I always get the lighter colors...usually pearl or grayish perlish..hehehe...But Red and Maroon would look really sexy :) you should get a pedicure. You deserve it :)

I think the bigger question here is why is nailpolish worrying you so? God looks at the heart and intention of the believer. I'd spend your energy and time worrying about how to help the poor, how to be more compassionate to the homeless and other issues that really are far more important and will impact the world and God's beautiful creation.

I guess it depends on how seriously you take the word of god. Whilst I agree with what your saying Leena, its impossible to follow the rule of god to the finest detail. Unless of course you don't want to have a life!.

I usually avoid nail polish for this same reason, but if I am wearing it then I dont miss a prayer because of it. I still pray and hope that Allah would accept it.

I read a book titled, "purification of salat" which used ayats from Quran and hadiths to support all the information concerning salat. Anyways, its not good enough to just perform the 'ritual' of salat and the ritual of wudu, without being careful about every detail, thinking that your 'intention' is enough. Yes......all actions are governed by your intentions, but it is not correct to ignore the details for wudu and salat, just because you think, your 'intention' is good..if you are ignoring the direct specifications for wudu and salat as it has been prescribed for you, I really don't see how ones intentions can really be all that pure.

A persons salat will not be accepted until they have proper wudu and for proper wudu, the parts that you have to clean need to be covered completely with water. That would include your nails which, if you were to wear nailpolish, it would be covered. Water will not clean your nail then and therefore you do not have proper wudu, and hence salat will not be accepted. I personally LOVE coloured nails, especially toe nails. In Pakistan I bought loads of special henna just for the nails....it gives these gorgeous deep reddish brown colour. Its great because it doesn't chip, lol.....and I just put on somemore every 3 weeks when a bit of my nail has grown :) I've seen some ladies use henna that is meant for the hair or skin on their nail which gives an ugly orange colour, or some put henna all over their finger, and not just the nail....i think it looks gross.

I guess I aam on the same wavelenght with Begsy, JP and of course Mamad. Personally I love nail polish and I wear it all the time even when I pray...those things dont really matter to me. God know whats I am :)
