hello everyone...

i have an issue...yesterday my fiance and i had a conversation...it went something like this...

HIM: Can i ask you a question?
ME: Sure..wassup?..
HIM: Why dont you call my parents Ammi and Baba?
ME: Err?
HIM: I call your parents Ammi and Papa
ME: I never asked you to though
HIM: I made the effort because I want to be part of your family
ME: uh huh
HIM: My mom noticed you call her Aunty...but I call your mom Ammi
ME: Oh jesus
HIM: So what are you gonna do?
ME: How you gonna put me on the spot like that...I don't know...i dont know
HIM: umm ok
ME: It's just that..you know my family way more than i know yours...(he comes by once a month..where as i only see them once every 3 or 4 months)...you feel comfortable...plus my brother in law calls my parents ammi and papa..so it seems the other son in law would do the same....also your parents never ASKED me to call them that...actually I'm okay with calling your dad Baba...cuz my dad is Papa...but i feel WEIRD calling your mom Ammi...only my mom is Ammi...and the main reason is...i feel like my family is going to be replaced once i move down to VA with you...:: insert sniffiling ::
HIM: Ohhh no its not like that...you know that...your family will always be YOUR family..no one is being replaced...
ME: I feel like I'm letting go of them...
HIM: noooooo...but i understand what you're saying now...you take your time when you're comfortable...
ME: So why you gotta start this whole hoopla up just to make me all crazy in the head...

(lol true new yorker)

So what do you guys think I should do?...his mom already made a comment...i know im kinda being silly..but im immature and stupid..lol..should i just start referring to them by what he calls them outta respect....OR...should i wait till im ready?

avoid addressing her by a 'name' and if u must say it, u can say Mom or something else along those lines, other than "Ammi"

my daughter is behaving like a terrible two...and she is only 18 months! I just dont know what to do! She yells and screams at restaurants, and when I tell her to behave she just comes up to me and kisses my arm...then starts screaming again! I just don't know what to do...am I such a bad mom....she used to be such a sweet baby...

or u could make a joke out of it and in bed say

"whos ur daddy" lol

okay okay....kidding. I think you should make an effort to call her ummi (or ummijee?) just to make her happy...I know it doesnt sound right or fair, but by simply compromisisng, you are getting a chance to not only to avoid future "thana's" but also have a chance to become closer to your new mommy in law
