Nationwide Earthquake Fundraisers, 3/31/06-4/9/06
REBUILDING LIVES, RESTORING HOPE
Continuing support of the victims of the South Asian Earthquake

The earthquake which devastated the South Asian subcontinent on October 8, 2005 is still affecting millions of children and adults. Over three million people have lost their homes, their families and their livelihoods. Islamic Relief is working hard on the ground and around the world in order to ensure that the survivors are not forgotten. Millions of people have already contributed with donations to help out the people affected by the devastating earthquake. However, it is imperative that we continue this outpouring of support, as there is still a great need for more monetary aid to rebuild the earthquake-stricken areas and help out the victims of this tragedy. Please join us in our efforts to provide sustained rebuilding and rehabilitation projects to this devastated population.
Moin Khan and Rashid Latif, former captains of the Pakistan National Cricket Team, recently returned from a visit to Pakistan with Islamic Relief, where the athletes had a chance to interact with the displaced victims. The athletes brought a brief moment of joy to children in the camps by playing a cricket match with them. Moved by their experience, Khan and Latif and are looking forward to revisiting the affected areas. Prior to that, they will be visiting major U.S. cities to support Islamic Relief's fundraising efforts. Please join us in this effort to help rebuild lives and restore hope by attending the fundraising dinner and/or making a donation through the website www.irw.org .
