I just hope that these magnicient series become never ending,everlasting.....but i doubt that J.K. Rowling will continue writg about Harry at university... maybe some of you will take up the writing if such a situation crops up. what u think?interestg huh?
Very interesting book. Ive jus started it and reached the 5th chapter that i feel in another world...esp with the fog and hurricane.amazg that the weather out here as im typg is similar...
samasas, draco had promised voldermort he would kill dumbledore and was under pressure from the deatheaters to do that. whether he would have been successful or not is another story but yes, the 'water' did make dumbledore weak. snape was bound by the curse to finish off what draco wouldnt do.
also, remember that snape wouldnt let the others kill harry.
i cried when i was reading...at 1 point i was like i'm going to stop reading this..i cant.but the fact that they might not have another school year at hogwarts really pissed me off..but hey you really dont know JKRowling, queen of twists and turns!!
Shazia07, I respect your input but, if you remember droco was not killing dumbledore. He was so confused that he gave up on killing him. That is why snape came in and didnt even do anything but killing dumbledore himself. I dont think droco would have killed even snape would have left dumbledore alone. And dumbledore was sick because of that potion he drank. If he was his usual self, I dont think the whole force from voldemore would have touched him.
i think snape is on the side of the Order, or rather was on Dumbledore's side NSW. i think it was more to do with not making draco malfoy kill him (which he had promised voldermort) and less to do with the cover.
if draco would have killed him then he would be a lost cause for ever because he would have murdered. i think dumbldore wanted to preserve some goodness in draco, some innocence which the murder would have killed for ever. after all, it was too easy for voldermort to start killing and so it's conceivable that draco would have started on that same path
i'd forgotten all about the portraits!!
how many books are there rumoured to be in total - in the series?
I think Dumbledore is definately dead....Rowling settled any doubts with the entire school gathering just after it happened.
He'll probably still have a big role in the final book - since we all know that he's a portrait in the headmasters' office.
I thought the best out of all the books was Goblet of Fire...definately the climax!
nah, i think dumbledore is most definitely dead. but harry has a new ally in the form of the person with the initials (who'd left that note in the cave)
dumbledore couldnt have ridden to the rescue for ever. and some new blood is needed
i really enjoyed this one. was getting a bit fed up of the formulaic beginnings with the durseley's but this was good. i too cried when dumbledore died and couldnt believe it.
rowling has always taken the best parts of other books and stuffed them into the harry potter books, though having said that they are excellent. goblet of fire does remain the best of the bunch though.
the horcrux theory is interesting!!! a definite maybe... as far as snape goes, i really thought that dumbledore wanted/was pelading with snape to kill him because if he hadnt then the deatheaters would definitely have known that snape was a double agent. more importantly though, it would have meant that draco would have begun to murder - and i dont think dumbledore wanted to set an as yet relatively inncent onto that path - he wanted to preserve some goodness. particularly when he had not looked after or kept an eye on voldermort through his years at the school, as he said he should have done
sorry to be negative all the times, but I dont think he can redeem himself by even killing voldemore himself or helping harry in future to kill voldemore. I dont think any reader could forget him killing voldemore, even next novel comes years from now. Again I might be negative mind person.
is it me only that feel more pissed at Snape now than Voldemore. It may be due to the fact that voldemore didnt kill anyone near to harry, himself, in any of the novel. Yeah we did heard over and over again that he did killed harry's parents in past but killing dumbledore. Snape you are very lucky that you are an imaginary character, or I almost called my travel agent. Ummm... on that thought.... if I was acting snape in the series of harry potter movies, I would have the best life insurance policy just in case....
Sabila: Hmmmmmm... very interesting deduction there.
Now u should be the ghost writer for J.K.Rowling.
God knows.... the poor woman is runnin out of ideas there;)
Jasminphool: what r u doin gurlllll?! Sniffing *Drano* or something of the likes. Get done with it already! Chop, chop. At least before Harry turns 40;)
Actually, I just googled this idea and found quite a few folks out there who agree with this plot twist. This one explains it best:
Here it is: Harry Potter is the sixth Horcrux. Shocking!, you say? Surely you saw it coming? Lemme break it down.
Here, in no particular order, are the Horcruxes as I have determined them:
1) Tom Riddle?s diary (seen in Book 2: Chamber of Secrets)
2) Marvolo?s ring (Book 6: Half-Blood Prince)
3) Slytherin?s ?S? locket (Book 6: Half-Blood Prince)
4) The Hufflepuff Cup (Book 6: Half-Blood Prince)
5) Something from Ravenclaw (Book 6: Half-Blood Prince)
6) Harry Potter (pretty much the entire series, really, but the story is originally told in Sorcerer?s Stone. Thinking back, it sounds like Lily Potter?s death was the fuel for turning Harry into a Horcrux and the lightning-bolt scar is the evidence)
It would be the perfect strategy on Voldemort?s part. The prophecy states that neither can survive while the other lives. What better way to assure yourself that Harry Potter will die and the prophecy will keep you (Voldemort) alive than to split part of your soul into his body.
This action would explain Voldemort?s disapperance after the act, Harry?s parseltongue abilities and his psychic link to Voldemort. It seems very clear, but also very obvious.
Maybe I?m wrong. Maybe Tom Riddle made Ginny the Horcrux sometime during Chaber of Secrets. Maybe Dumbledore was right about the snake, x, being a Horcrux. Or maybe, just maybe, I?m right and Harry will somehow have to rid himself of Voldemort?s soul or die trying.
Good idea. But I dont think Voldemort will do that. And it will go against the plot of first few novels. I mean when Voldemort do this act? When he actually was killing him and Harry's mom sacrificed her life. Or, When they met after Globet of fire for little while?? I am not very optimistic on this. But hey, you never know what she is upto.
Here's an idea. What if Harry is a horticrux (or whatever it's called)? Will he have to be destroyed in order for Voldemort to be killed? Frankly, I don't think JK would ever kill off Harry, but I thought this would be an interesting plot development.

and it's fine to disagree on this samasas
