A refurbishment has transformed Soho Spice located at 124-126 Wardour St, There's the Spice Lounge downstairs, with a bar and dance floor, and a restaurant upstairs with show kitchen where diners can watch the team of chefs prepare Indian kebabs and other exotic dishes.

i prefer discarded remnants from the rubbish heap...something very earthy about it

As far as I know...Soho Spice is halal...not sure about Masala Zone tho...Summer you must have checked it right?

Yes, I've been there. It was okay. Service was a bit dodgy, if I remember correctly. Food was good.

It was much better a few years ago, during my student days. They have some pretty funky sinks in the washrooms.

They had a mango sorbet that was bloody fantastic. No really! It was that good.

Never been there - they have also always been doing that at Masala Zone which is off carnaby st, you can watch the Chefs prepare your Idlis and chaat!

i can't afford it

I have been since its refurb, its all very red inside, especially downstairs. I didnt notice the show kitchen bit though, the lay out was the same as before i.e. lots of tables and sofa type seats on the sides. Getting a table is a mare though, they apparently dont do bookings now, so we ended up waiting ages downstairs for a table to become free. The food is changed too, its more kebab based now, some of the dishes have some amusing names as well, one of them was like "silky chicken..", it was still nice food though. Also the waiters dont wear shalwar kameez anymore.

I ahven't been since the refurbishment but dined there a couple of times before - it's great, loved the food... It's very fusion, dishes you know but a modern twist. Good decor too, but very noisy (or buzzy, depending on your viewpoint!) in the evening and weekends.
