New Wave Of Japanese Supercars...
Supposedly next few years, the US will see the arrival of even more supercars... but not from Italy or Germany or even Britain! Instead, from the land of the rising sun: Japan.
Nissan is planning to bring it's Skyline GT successor to the US. Also an Infiniti re-badged model may come as well.
Toyota had it's Volta showcar w/ a V10 and scissor ala' Lambo doors. It's up-market division Lexus released a concept that is slated to begin production soon as well.
Then there is Honda who recently announced that 2005 was the last model year for it's world reknowned, yet dated supercar- Acura NSX. A HSC concept made it's rounds last year at int'l shows and recently it was announced that a V10 mid-engine, carbon-bodied supercar was in the works for 2007-8 release.
All the cars aforementioned will be in the realm of nearly 6-figures!

Starry, nice link! I just spent a hour or so on it... that's very good for me, I tend to get surf'happy!
BTW, the 6-series has perhaps the most comfortable, supportive, and elegantly-refined seats I've ever sat in... ideal balance between luxury/comfort & sport/performance. I am not joking! :p

It's pretty cool knowing that we'll be driving these cars in a couple of years!
Highlights:
M6
Nissan Azeal
Shelby Cobra
On another note, is it just me or were the gen-3 RX-7's one of the most visually appealing cars out there..... especially when factoring in Bang for the Buck. I just saw one yesterday where the dude waved at me from a gen 3 RX-7, I was struck - as I was when I first saw it - by its aggressively yet beautiful aesthetics.... anyway, in agreement with all of you - MORE RICE POWER!!!!
btw who's ELITE?

I value iamadesifob's opinion is as credible as far as I can throw him... he's a name dropper, not an enthusiasist. I just call it as I see it. I think I might know the reason for his banter, his friend had a NA1 w/ 18's or 19's that were basically chrome boat anchors... again I am assuming. I spent alot of time behind the wheel of a 355, and I feel that's well below a NA1 w/ i/h/e and type_s suspension. However the 360 is definitely a cut above the NA2 w/ bolt-ons, period.
I'm wondering if Mazda has anything up it's sleeves for re-intro of the FD_RX-7 in some form or another; they are minting money w/ the success of their Mazda6 and Mazda3 lines.
The Lexus LF-A got the greenlight, so that'll be interesting!
A V8 supra turbo would be sweet..... Are they talking about this or something? So question, why do the japanese car makers just stop making higher end sportscars? Supras are still pretty coveted today. The Nissan Z's are doing well but they can't really compete with the American "bargain" supercars coming out these days? I would guess its lack of demand but then you go to any car forums and you see all theses posts of people wondering where the next generation of Japanese sports cars are.
Is it just me or is it taking way too long to get one of these companies to make more than just a "concept car"?
About the NSX being dated, even though I guess you're right as far, performance goes, and of course you have every right to say it, it just stings a bit - the truth as they say hurts.... To me, its still one of the best looking cars on the road today....
