So it looks like even an wealthy Arab tycoon can be pressured by his mama when it comes to marriage! Arrrrgh!

News: Haifa?s engagement officially called off

Most tabloids have been writing about the engagement of Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi to Saudi tycoon Tareq Jafali and then their breakup, without any official announcement from either side to verify the validity of all the rumors.

Finally an official press released was given from Haifa?s managing office confirming her separation from Tareq, without stating the reasons behind the breakup. According to the London based Elaph, Haifa did not state the reasons due to the fact that she felt the matter is a private one and as a form of respect to Tareq.

Recently, it was rumored that Tareq had abruptly called off his engagement to Haifa. Sources revealed that Tareq took this step as a result of pressure from his family, who insisted that he leave Haifa, stressing that she would not make a suitable wife.

Haifa only recently announced her engagement to 29-year-old Tareq, after a love affair that lasted several months.

haz, hmmm no i wouldn't go quite as far as to say we're being totaly judgemental but look at it this way: most of the arab female singers are plastic now so haifa is just one of them...this saudi prince could've really just asked any one of them to marry him if his descision were based purely on looks...and she didn't have to agree to marry him, she could have been like any of the other singers and just dated men who gave them lots of money etc (and I maybe making a generalization about the other singers here).....so there must be something about this relationship that isn't plastic.... or it could totally be based on looks and money who knows....

i charge a whole $100 per nose heeheeheee

we're all laughing at her, but what if she really actually loved him and he loved her...maybe she's human under all that plastic...by the way i am an expert at knowing who's done their nose...hana you must be too, you see it a lot in beirut i think
