Salaam Fellow Yemeni Muslims:
First of all, let me say that I am a Muslim Alhamdulillah. However, I was born in Hyderabad, India and I lived in Saudi Arabia for 15 yrs Mashallah. I had MANY Yemeni friends and Mashallah they were/are one of the nicest people on the face of the earth just like Iraqi people.
I love the "Mutthabagh" and other foods that you all have. My neighbors were Yemenis and for some odd reason they were obsessed with the Indian movies and "Amitabh Bachan". hmmm.. Anyways, during Gulf War, all the Yemenis were forced out of Saudi Arabia cuz of their support for Iraq and I lost in touch with lots of them.
After that "Muttabagh" never tasted the same cuz it was not made by Yemenis. Then in the US, I havent met anyone from Yemen. In Hyderabad, India, there are a LOT of ppl who are decendants of Yemenis and Sudanese. They mostly live in a place called "Barkas". My mom's family lives in an area mostly of decendants from Yemen and Iran, in India. Just thought I will share my story and love with you all.
