Nose Piercing


Salaam! I?d like to get my nose pierced, but it seems that the traditional ?gun? that is used for the ears is now banned for use on cartilage (in Ontario). Someone suggested a tattoo parlor.....I?d rather not, though!! *: Can anyone suggest a safe/hygienic place in the GTA (preferably in Mississauga)?

Alright girls, it's been a year and I still haven't gotten my nose pierced! Any suggestions - not including tattoo parlours? I'm hoping something new has opened up.

Just do the Tattoo parlor....they know what they are doing. I got mine there!

Thanks bottlerocket, I'm glad I'm not the only one! (A) A hijabi in a tattoo parlor would certainly turn a few too many heads - talk about bad dawah! ;) But you're right about the safety/health standards...it's probably my best option. Does anyone know of a reliable tattoo parlor in the GTA? (Lol...I can't believe I'm asking this question! :))

Thanks for the input, ladies! Someone told me that some of the jewellery stores in the Dundas/Hurontario area have special nose-piercing guns that are, apparently, legal. Still, almost everyone I know has had an infection from a desi place, so I'm still skeptical. *: Suddenly, the tattoo parlor doesn't seem all that bad...although I still can't picture myself stepping into one!!

yup i agreee with sophi..i went to a tatto parlor called andromeda but thats here in nyc..it was great..the guy did it with a special needle..it was not a traditional needle but some funky device..it didnt hurt at all and it took like 30 seconds...but yeah my nose never got infected and it was painless..sorry i cant help out as to the fact that i dont know ur area at all..:(

The best, safest and cleanest place to get your nose pierced is at the tattoo parlor. I had mine done at this desi jewlery place (in Houston, TX.) and they did it with a gun, it hurt so bad, I was taking pain killers for the next 3 days then it got infected the 3rd day.

I then went to a local tattoo parlor and they could not believe that the desi place did it with a gun they were laughing. At the tattoo parlor they use a long pipe which they put on top on your nose (where you want the hole) and put a needle right through the pipe and make the hole. It didnt hurt at all, and it was so quick and till this day (i've had it for 4 yrs) it hasn't gotten infected thank god.
