Haz,my mom is originally from syria, but her parents moved to lebanon when they first got married and had all their kids here.and then, when everyone of them was grown up,they moved to the states! lol!

so,basically,my mom doesn't have a syrian nationality...BUT we have the accent, the food,etc....:) get it?! so i say bab instead of beeb for door :)!!! and shibbak instead of shibbeek for window!!! that's only a couple of words i can remember now my friends always made fun of at school! :) and ofcourse, you know the food...:)

Oh ya Hana,I really want to visit, but the thing is,my parents just left less than 2 weeks ago and it doesn't make sense to visit now.I'll propably wait for another couple of months to make them miss me a little.Nizar was an Arab poet before he was Syrian and pure shami, from Damascus,no matter what very few people might claim.

Caarabguy: who said we can't declare someone else kafir, esp. when we have proofs? Go check the link i gave for a book on qabbani and tell me if this guy cannot be called kafir or not. Allah is the judge, but only direclty in the Herafeter. in this dunya he's the judge indirectly through the Quran he sent down and the Prophetic hadiths he inspired, which we employ to distract the ruling of one's kufr.

sub7anallah how the Kufr of Kabbani doesn't interest some people here. Shows how much you care about Islam, indeed. Khalli 7awari blad el-3arab, el-fawdhawiyyah wil wiskha wil day2a wil muz3ijah wil mkarkabeh, wil mukhabarat ma3ha, tinfa3kum plus hal Iqbeeb-less destroyed Nizar. Al7amdulillah allathi 3aafaana mimma ibtalaakum bih, wa faddhalanaa 3ala katheerin mimman khalaqa tafdheelaa.

caarabguy: a bro asked who Nizar was, and I answered him; simple as that! Discussions evolve and branch off, that's 3adi. Welcome to our planet.

Nizar's real lastname is Iqbeeq, Turkish for 'the man with the white mustache', but he hated it, so he assumed the name of an esteemed family in Syria to make up for his inferiority complex. He's the one who asked in his will to be buried beside the major Sufi heretic of all times, ibn Arabi al-Andalusi; who's ibn Arabi? Read:

in Arabic:

and in Engilsh:
