not a FOB, not an ABCD
So, I'm not fresh off the boat, I came off the boat when I was 11, ten years ago, and I'm not Amercian Born and Confused. What am I ?
Hmm Islamic values should remain. Hydro food should remain. Our desi ness should change to meet the demands of our climate/environment. Changing in moderation with islamic laws in mind is not bad. Fortunately/unfortunately desi's have changed and to a certain extent changed for the better just as some have changed for worse. Ok i'll get of being serious. Desi's suck..how's that? haha
Rizwan...the matlab in wat i said is exactly that..a desi is always a desi..with the same values..the same culture and the same line of thought. For those desis trying desperately to be different..well, they'll have a huge identity crisis dilemma to face sooner than later
Riz..you're everywhere. And no, nai bhulgay. Add me on - uddinsal at msu dot edu. I'm not sure that it's smart to put my e-mail address on here, but whatever.
i forgot about putting thsi je up. After reading everyone's response...i don't have an accent. Last time i went to india, i found myself speaking in a fake desi-english accent. Not as strong, but you know - holly wood style. It's really wierd hearing yourself speak in an american accent when no one else around you does - but tries to.
