MS Design Alfa Romeo 159, obviously for those n'sync with the car world would know the design cues are those of the brera, and even tho alfa's are somewhat Insubstantial in terms of durability and perpetuality, but people getting whiplash watching u drive by em, priceless.

The Integrale HF turbo use to be one awesome machine.

Remember Lancia's? they mostly made headlines in the rally world, and at the time had nice cars, go to their webpage now, and its sad to see the direction in which Lancia is goin.

The 164 is from a time when Alfas were notorious for their reliability. Worse than Jaguar of the time. It is that reputation that lead to their demise here is the US.

i remember driving a brand new alfa 164L sedan in 1991, the first year they hit alfa dealerships in the US... it was black with tan leather... unfortunately it was an automatic, but it was still a sweet ride. very distinctive, even to this day.

one of our local european car dealerships (specializing in italian cars in particular) actually has/had a red alfa 156 (the 159's better looking predecessor) and a light blue alfa 166 on their lot last year. actually there were two such 166 sedans at one time... i see one of them driving around my side of town every now and then. saw it on the road this afternoon, as a matter of fact.

i'm not sure how the dealer managed to get those cars here in the states... but they weren't cheap. the 156 was going for $33K and the 166 for close to $50K. both cars were slightly used and had a few miles on them... they were used as demos for promotional purposes, presumably.

i guess some people will buy such cars for the sake of exclusivity, if anything. i sure as he11 wouldn't mind that red 156, though.

Those are UK prices whch include thos damn import duties. Alfas are cheaper otherwise. My friend who had the Spider got his for ~$25K.
The colleague who had the 155 got it for around ~$22K.

actually, for a V6, w/ leather and navi, and Bi xenons, it'll set u back around 54 grand, and here in so cal, my friend just bought a 525i for the same price (including tax and License), so actually its really not that bad of a price, plus it looks alot better than a 5 series.

it does have a V6 option, but that would make the price jum to atleat 50 grand, alfaromeo.co.uk then convert the currency to USD.

Alfas's are definately one of the nicest cars and have been for a few years.

Where were you checking prices? Almost all Alfas have a V6 option. I know for a fact that the 159 has a 3.2 V6 ~260hp. I've driven a few Alfas and they are a hoot to drive. One of my friends had a '97 spider back in 97-98. If there ever was a chic magnet , this thing was it.
A colleague of mine drove a 155 GT. Man could that thing handle for a FWD car!

The only art i could ever appreciate, lol , i may be shallow, but sorry to say cars are the only other things on this planet that gets my adrenalin pumpin, and the other thing well we all know what that is, but yea, checked out the prices on these hot blooded italians, base w/ a 2.2ltr would set me back around 38 grand, the same engine choice with navi, leather, and bells and whistles jumps to 44 Grand, which is a chunk of money for a 2.2 I-4 w/ 185BHP. so the question is, is it really THAT pretty?
