NYC Department Stores

I wondereed what store is considered to be the nicest in NYC. Is it Barneys or Bloomingdales? Or is it something else completely? I would appreciate a answer from a local. I am trying to get a bridal present (money vouchers) for a friend who is moving there, so any information is much appreciated.

Yep Bergdorfgoodman..but it also depends on what you are buying--i.e. makeup lines at Bergdorf is the best but saks may have a better selection of something else---But as far as impressions from others of a shi-shi store in would be BG.

thanks for the advice guys, I choose Bergdorf Goodman in the end (which was a painful decision) but I heard it was the most shi shi. It was vouchers for a girlfriend's wedding who is moving to to the stinky apple. :))

Bergdorf Goodman...at least this is where I would want to go with a money voucher (note: not my own money :)).
