OB/GYN rotation
hello everyone, any advice on how to succeed in ob/gyn (survive is more like it)..... books, how to study, how to prepare, how to increase your confidence etc?
wow thanks rizwana thats very helpful! so far i think i have been showing interest and initiative... the residents here are really realy nice and i get along with all of them. they're very friendly and love to teach. alhumdulilah i am really really enjoying this rotation.... who knows, i might become an ob/gyn!!
As a fourth year ob/gyn resident, I can tell you what we look for when we evaluate the medical students. Look interested, be aggressive, ask questions, we're not looking for you to become ob/gyns, just come on time, round on your patients and show some sort of work ethic!
Beckman seems to be the book that most medical students like to use. I also used the little pocket guide by CCPS (it was a maroon colored little pocket guide). Read in advance before you start the rotation. Cardinal movements of labor, the layers of the abdomen, etc. Blueprints is good and also helpful for Step 2 and 3. If you guys have any specific questions I'd be more than happy to answer them! rizwana
wow cook county! im in pontiac, michigan but ive been polishing my spanish skills too (ive totally forgotten all of it!) - its like little mexico up here.... totally unexpected
i wore an i love ob/gyne pin, told the attendings they were great, and read 1/3 of blueprints. worked out pretty good. ws - i was at the venerable cook county. podia practicar la lengua tambien. is that right?
