Obstacles?
We all want to do it, think of it, dream of it, talk about it. What are the challenges we face?
Humanitarian - i could not agree more!!!
i really like the analogy of being worked to a pulp :D and not to mention ALL the exams...my Lord...its never ending
in terms of indonesia, i KNOW, i seriously would have loved to have gone for the tsunami, but coudn't leave residency, then i got off a few months early, but have to study for boards. so many exams in medicine, and they work us to a pulp.
i agree with you Aabutt...time constraints!!!
i've used my vacation time to go and its great!
but now i'm being told 2 weeks won't be enough i need to try to put 4 weeks together...i don't know if i'll be able to do that.
i really wanted to go to indonesia, but couldn't leave work :(
I had a difficult time getting time off, since I take time off to go to Pakistan every year as well at least once. My chief was not too happy but let me do anyway, since I really wanted to do it. I dont know how he would review me at the end of the year. Taking one month off is a big deal, but I guess I could pull it off since I bring in a 100% of my salary and then some to the division.
The 2 biggest challenges are 1. difficulty in finding time to do it, and 2. the revenue lost while we are doing it. And for those with families, add the pressure of being away from the family.
