I definately think the future of our country is in the hands of those of us who have been raised outside, in foreign lands. Speaking for myself, I have been in the States for 18 years now, but I STILL don't feel like I belong here. I still feel like I am not truly an "American". And I think that this feeling will remain, regardless of how long I live here. FOr this reason, I think that our generation needs to mobilize. We need to use our resources to benefit our country, which in the long run will benifit each of us. Our generation includes people from all walks of life, people who have education and training in just about every single field there is. We have among us doctors, lawyers, politicians, etc. If we can all do a small tiny bit towards our country...it'll add up to be a lot. I know sometimes I feel like...I'm only one person, what difference can I make? But if each does our part...it can make a HUGE impact. If we can do this...we can go back to a place we can truly call HOME, a place that we will be connected to, a place that we can call our own, and no one can deny us. ANyways...I am going back there at the end of this month. I will be staying for two months and will try to do an evaluation of the types of things that we can do here, to help our people there. If you guys have any suggestions/comments/concerns...any thing at all..please let me know. I will try to return with some answers for you guys. Please pray for me so that I can actually make a difference.

Baby steps - definitely agree. If we do get together that is the problem - we don't even have a drawing point to start with.

We definitely need to round up our brightest minds on this side of the world and utilize our knowledge to better the life of our families in Afghanistan and elsewhere. It's easier said than done, but simple thoughts such as these are the building blocks to a better Afghanistan.

Anyone that is over in Afghanistan helping is doing an act more commendable than our thoughts will do any good here. It takes a lot for someone to go over and put their life at risk knowing that they could possibly never return home. I personally hope in the near future after I am finished with school I will be able to gain some funding (through grants) and set up an awareness center for women. With all that is going on and the stories I have heard it is upsetting to know that our own is going through such a horrendous time. I just pray that my plan will take action and I will be able to do this. What are your thoughts??
