Ode to Pablo Neruda

I could read his stuff until I die. Would it be too out of line to enlist everyone in a collective effort? Can we contstruct a poem in the Nerudian fashion? Each person writes as much or as little as they feel. Obviously nothing compares to el maestro, but why not?

thought we could give this another shot... not really in the style of neruda, more of a tribute...

he holds me captive with his light, and active mind.
his words suggest themselves to me with gravity.
flirtatious and inviting, soothing and igniting,
the light that would be, my will to see.

And I feel Pablo is here still. Knows our loveness, as we will. From all the ones who bring here life.. to all our grindings in this here mill.

The words decried by his desire. The thoughts I fry on my own pyre. With 50 friends who built this village... and the 1st who lit the fire.

I desire OH to 'bring a friend'. To ring a ring and hold a hand. To tell this friend who so I love.. the thoughts he leads to with his wand.

I desire SO to build an Ode. Of hauling timber and carrying load. Of chopping wood and moving agua.. of digging wells and paving road.
