ONLINE VIDEO & NEWS - UCI PROTEST

Dear brother Hussam, brother Amir, et all:
Maasha-Allaah, it is wonderful that so many people protested peacefully. It hurts that we failed to desist the organizers from displaying the pictures. But, there are several positives: we were organized, we had multiple speakers, we had diverse speakers, and the Muslim Student Union was meticulous both about prayer arrangements and escorting people.
Insha-Allaah, if there is a next time, we will have tens of thousands of people instead of hundreds. I hope there is no need for a next time, but, i think victory will require continued protests and struggle.
Although I had been through articles earlier, it was after I went through Amir Shama's email that I realized that sources referred to our beloved Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu alaihi wasallam as Prophet. I think this is the culmination of Muslims educating society, interacting, earning respect, and protesting against wrong-doings.
We need to continue our efforts on educating others and on persistent dawah with wisdom. Protests are essential but only 1 of our dimensions. It is honorable that the Shura council's Shakeel Syed publically called for those on the other side of the barricade to engage in dialog/dialogue.
The media reports covered shouts, covered the police-escorting of 2 individuals, covered calling Islam an evil religion, na'oozubillaah. But, if we are relentless in our efforts to communicate and educate; then, our openness to talk - and not just our protest - should also get covered in the future. I wish br Husam Ayloush, br Shakeel, imaam Saadullaah, and the sister from MPAC were published as well.
Brother Hussam Ayloush once mentioned that one of the challenges in interviews is to be brief. Therefore, it is great that brother Hussam likened the event organizers to be regressing into the time of KKK and old GErmany. It is great that Othman Umarji was quoted as connoting the attack on Muslims to anti-Semitic behavior in Germany. These similes take one sentence each but elucidate realities to novices instantly.
