Justice in Palestine Week
Stand Up For Human Rights
Come find out why fliers for this event were torn down and why they wish to silence the truth about the oppression in Palestine!
The Muslim Student Association at UCSD will be hosting a week of events to bring awareness about the injustices and atrocities happening in Palestine. We are striving to call attention to the humanitarian aspect of the issues surrounding Palestine today. Please help us spread the word about Justice in Palestine Week. We would love to have all of you there in attendance. Every person counts.

My Land documents the threat that husband and wife Ali and Trees face from the Zionist occupation authority to destroy the home the family built on their own land in the town of Sakhnin (Galilee region, north Palestine). About 1.3 million Palestinians who were issued 'Israeli citizenship' are still struggling 57 years after the imposition of the Zionist state for their rights to their own property and land. The film shows one of those many struggles.

Film Synopsis:
"PARADISE NOW" is the story of two young Palestinian men as they embark upon what may be the last 48 hours of their lives. On a typical day in the West Bank city of Nablus, where daily life grinds on amidst crushing poverty and the occasional rocket blast, we meet two childhood best friends, Saeed (Kais Nashef) and Khaled (Ali Suliman), who pass time drinking tea, smoking a hookah, and working dead-end menial jobs as auto mechanics. Saeed's day takes a turn for the better when a beautiful young woman named Suha (Lubna Azabal) brings her car in for repairs. From their spirited interaction, it is apparent that there is a budding romance growing between them. Saeed is approached by middle-aged Jamal (Amer Hlehel), a point man for an unnamed Palestinian organization, who informs Saeed that he and Khaled have been chosen to carry out a strike in Tel Aviv. They have been chosen for this mission as a team, because each had expressed a wish that if either is to die a martyr, the other would want to die alongside his best friend....
