Assalamu Alaikum,

I'm not in the US either, I'm in Canada, but I think its likely similar here. I have read that a lot of the Masjids do not have good sisters areas or classes, so I think this is an important issue. Alhamdulillah in the community I am in it is very good for the sisters at the Masjid, and we have a good group of women that organise potluck halaqas and Tajweed classes for women. I just reverted 4 months ago and I will soon be moving to a new city inshaAllah and I hope I am able to find the same or similar arrangement there. How do you find it in your communities?

many ppl in the United States think that we are inferior to our husbands well and all men in Islam. we need to spread the word about how wonderfully we are treated b/c we are Muslim women.....in other words Da'wah Da'wah Da'wah......this is one thing i believe strongly in being a revert and finding myself in the minority in the states. another concern is not just for women but for the entire family but child raising in the United States for us Muslims is extremely difficult and to overcome that i believe we need to make sure we are around good Muslims as much as possible and to always be in with our Muslim community......btw I'm new member.....american reverted to islam in 2003 w/ 12 yr daughter so i experience many frustrations on a daily basis and still struggling and trying to find new ways to live an easier life while here in the states inshallah

I actually live in the UK but find it difficult to meet with like minded individuals and talk about Islam.

I am not extremely religious so need an extra push in my deen.
