I noticed in the prequel trilogy, Palpatine's origins were never fully explained. However, his roots appear to be on Naboo, a planet within the boundaries of the Republic. In the Phantom Menace, it was said that if Anakin was born in the Republic, he would definately have been discovered much sooner. I'm sure Palpatine was born in the Republic, and turned out to be one of the most powerful force users. How come he was never discovered by the Jedi in his youth?
