Paradox
**In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the most Kind**
Paradox
You have created me out of nothing
So I may develop into something
A complex development which bogs the mind
You created me so I may prove myself worthy of Your Majestic presence
I have proven nothing but my own deficiencies
I follow my vain desires rather what is written in Your Book
I have failed my test?
Instead of the bountiful gardens of Paradise
I am rewarded with the flaming fires of Hell
The good I could have left in the world
Is instead, injected with evil
I have failed the test and ignored my purpose in life
I strived for the Heaven on earth instead of bearing the earthly fires with patience
The fires of Hell are more than I can bear
My Lord, I have failed you
When I tried to speak, all that came out were muffled whispers
I tried to walk and I?d stumble
I tried to fight against evil, but I?d run
When I tried to breathe, I would gasp and wheeze
When I attempted to achieve good, I would never fail to fail
I tried to cry when I remembered Your awaiting fiery flames
But I would laugh with distraction from the world
I tried to cry when I thought of Your beloved dying orphans
All that materialized were bloodied tears.
For my true tears have long ago dried.
How I longed to understand my purpose
But instead of understanding came confusion
I sought to make friends with Your servants
Out of the midst, I made enemies
I attempted to write sonnets of love for You
And instead found pages and pages of incoherent words
I sought to find guided companionship to complete my faith
Yet found myself wandering amongst strangers armed with confusion
It turns out that the more I struggle to have patience and strength
The more my heart hardens until I witness a crack
I am made weak
My Lord, I sought to attain Your pleasure and enter Jannah
How I longed to hear Your angels speak to me of peace and welcome me into the gates
Instead of the ill words mortals would speak that would drive me away
But I find myself drowning with rotten souls in the flames of Hell
?a result of my paralyzed actions.
