People marrying too young...wrong or right?
This is a journal entry from the Girl-Talk village. When I posted this, I was confronted by quite a few people who did not agree with the message I was trying to convey. I'd like to know if any of you agree with me. Here is what I wrote:
I don't think that a 23-year-old man (boy?) is responsible or mature enough to be able to support a family. The reason I say this is because once a couple gets married, there is a good chance that the wife might get pregnant (duh!) and I do not think a 23 year old boy has experienced enough in his life to be a good father. Parents in their late 20s have gone through enough experiences and can explain the realities of life to their children better than very young parents can, so that their children can go out in the real world and be well-rounded adults because they have parents who are able to teach them everything that they themselves have learned, by experiencing enough of life. For example, a lot of kids of teen mothers would have traded in everything to have been able to have parents who are mature, stable and who are not still trying to figure themselves out, so that they could have had stable environments as children, and the 100 % security that they will be able to go to a good school. Children deserve to have the reassurance that their parents can provide for all of them so they don?t have to worry about bills being paid, the mortgage, etc. I mean, come on?.in the United States, most guys graduate from college around the age of 22 or 23, and it is not always possible for them to get a well-paying job and ?settle down? right away. A good majority of them cannot live on their own at such a young age without the support of their parents. Why go to such extreme lengths and add the burden of marrying a girl if you are completely ?unsettled?? I do not understand why such young guys cannot wait until they are more mature, responsible, and have experienced more of life before taking on such a big responsibility, one that might lead to fatherhood at any time. Yes, I understand people use birth-control methods but they do not ALWAYS work, and why put yourself in that situation in the 1st place if you are so young? I think that men getting married so young is wrong. Again, everyone, read the title of this journal: Indo-Pak MEN fall in love easily?they propose to their very young girlfriends after dating them for some time, at a very young age, and get married when they are barely adults. I do not think that all you love-struck boys out there realize what a serious thing marriage is, otherwise, you would not be rushing into marriage at such a young age. It is a LIFE-LONG commitment to someone...you are going to spend every single day for the rest of your life with that woman, and she is not always going to be the beautiful 21 year old girl that you proposed to because of your infatuation and lust. You are going to live with her for the next 60 years (assuming you die a natural death.) This is the real world, this isn't a romantic comedy we are living in. This is the 21st century, and the resurfacing of this old-school trend of marrying too young is not a good thing. The world is tough, life is tough, you got to face it, but you got to be really tough to face it, and believing that romantic love can conquer everything isn?t going to guarantee having a good house and enough money saved up to provide the best life for kids. For those of you who had everything that you wanted as a child and while growing up, well, children deserve the same thing or better than what you got as a child. Bringing another human life into this world is a very serious matter.
Also, a very important fact that many of you are not acknowledging is that you need to be mature enough to handle whatever catastrophes life may bring you. If many of you do not believe that maturity comes with age and with life experience?.well, I don?t know what to say to that
