People with special needs in the Arab world

One of the many things I enjoyed while staying in Syria, was helping people with special needs, Alhamdulilah I enjoyed tutoring them computer languages for free le wajhellah.. here is a story of sister Amani from Syria Allah yer7amha: fabutech.com

I just hope one day I go back there, and see some major changes as far as services for people with special needs..insha'Allah Allah kareem.

Why don't arabs start adopting the AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT as part of their way of life. In countries such as Iraq, Palastine, Sudan, Somalia, and arab country with high rate of handicapped people there need to be legistlations to address the needs of those people and keep them productive and assests to the communities.

i hear ya bro, Amman has a good program for children with Trisomy 21 and other mental and developmental problems. it teaches them social social and vocational skills, and it gives them work to do, for which they get paid. which helps families support them. i don't know much about the program, but i know families with kids in it. it could be better no doubt, but it could be much much worse.
