Darya, you make me remember something I've thought often after coming here: I'm almost ready to beg my husband to stay with me only because there are so many pigs out there. My husband is so respectful. He never looked at other women the way men look at me. If he was out with me, he was with me; he was never looking around scouting out a prettier face/body, etc. I miss that.

I am just wondering if for that kind of men I have to go all the way to Morocco or Algeria, cause they seems to have extinct on the territory of the US...

See peeps, there are actually SMART muslim men outthere who can love a woman without having her converted into their beliefs, and without having slept with her for a year or two first.

Samia, it worked well for my husband and me. That's how I know it can work. Our divorce is happening despite our cultural and religious differences. I tell people that they're what kept us together as long as we did. He prayed 5 times per day, which I thought was great. I mean how could God/Allah not respect that attention? I helped him with the harira soup he loved during Ramadan - after we experimented with the recipe a few dozen times to get it just right. Personally, if I never eat that soup ever again for the rest of my next 7 lifetimes it'll be too soon for me. Ha, ha! And during Christmas, he celebrated with me and my family. One Easter he even came to church with me. Unfortunately it wasn't quite so easy to go to the mosque with him, though, so I never did get to go. I loved him for his beliefs and he loved me for my beliefs. When two people have respect and love of each other, then religion is never an issue.

The thing is T-Dog and Darya, I completely do understand your points of view and also agree with you to a degree. For instance Darya, you say that change within a religion is neccesary for changing times, which is absolutely right. When I refered to the Muslim belief that Islam was created in order to rectify what had been altered by humans, it was directed more towards the major fundamental differences between the monothesietic religions. Most notably, the Christian belief that Jesus is the Son of God, and the Muslim belief that Jesus is simply a Prophet of God. I just don't see how those two beliefs could be mixed, since both basically consider it blasphemy to talk for or against the position of Jesus. However, there are other beliefs that are the same, which is from our common beginning and shared lineage. It is through these that a path towards peace and understanding can be created. And for the record, it bothers me that people seem to think that whenever a Muslim or any other person of faith talks in favor of their religion, they are being prejudiced or biased. Darya, you may think that I have ignored other religions but I take pride in the fact that I grew in an area that virtually had no Muslims, giving me the oppurtunity to reifirm my faith through pure knowledge...reading the Quran and other religious texts and coming to my own conclusion. My intention was definently not to put down any other religion, I was just stating the reason Muslims believe Islam was revealed.
