Playoffs
What are your thoughts on the playoffs so far?
I love the fact NJ (specifically VC) is playing like crap. I hope indiana closes them out...quote of the playoffs (aside from Artests prediction) comes from Anthony Johnson - "why is Vince Carter playing like he's tough when we all know he's not." So true - is there anyone in the league who acts more tough in his play but isn't?
Other than game one, the Sac/SA series is the best one so far...
Why does Kobe look like MJ even when he's arguing or trying to act 'tough'? Plus he's picking on steve nash and a suns team whose biggest player is Tim Thomas. btw - haven't the suns realized they don't have any player who can play defence in the post (get Brian Grant off the effin bench).

The last time Pat Riley saw the finals..... I was wearing Z-Cavaricci's listening to Ice Ice baby.......the game's changed since then !!!
Mavs are runnin like a mug this post season......after game one, the little general will make the necessary adjustments and then it's over !!!!!
Lakers are like the Orlando Magic when Shaq left...Magic had Penny Hardaway & Horace Grant to carry the weight and did make it to the playoffs the next season after Shaq left but have never been a force in the league ever again...Penny is long gone...he used to be such a great player. Grant Hill is always battling injuries and Magic keep trading away good players...perhaps the name Orlando Tragic is more fitting.
NBA Finals will be Youth vs Veterans...whoever wants the ring more badly will win it...never rule out playoff/Finals experience.
This series will end in 6. Heat have no answer for Dirk. Shaq will be pretty solid as he usually in in the NBA finals. The role players of the Heat will not be able to contain the quickness of the Mavs guards (Terry, Harris, Daniels, Stackhouse). Diop and Dampier are enough to slow down Shaq down. That will open it all up for Dirk, who is going to have a big series. I am happy for Mark Cuban, the best owner in the NBA.
it should be a good one...and hell yeah, thursday is just coming by soooo slow.

Where is the Heat's edge? Shaq is nowhere near as dominant and even if he is - so what? Tim Duncan put up monster numbers against the MAVS not to mention he hit some FTs.
Who wil score for the Heat besides Shaq and Wade? Antoine "I will shoot 4-25 from 3-pt range" Walker or Jason "I wish I was still white chocolate" Williams? or the Mitten, I mean Glove? Wait - or is Pat Riley coming out of retirement? GIVE ME A BREAK!
Shaq will never win a championship without Kobe. I hope he will go to his retirement with that in his Hall of Fame speech. And I hope Riley doesnt win a championship after stealing the show from Stan Van Gundy.
with that said...no doubt dallas has a legit shot, but experience is on the heats side (shaq didn't even touch the eastern conference trophy, whereas cuban was all over the west one like he was the MVP of the series or something). dirk is gonna have a monster series, but riley is too smart to allow him to have the looks he wants (those elbow jumpers from the top of the key - only problem, dirk is driving like a madman). is it me or does he look like a shaytan when he hoops (i know he's a great guy and after KG my favourite player, but he looks cracked out)?
Also remember this is a 2-3-2 series and only one time in NBA history has the home team swept 3 games - the Detroit Pistons of 2004.
I'm not tryin to be a copy cat, but I think it will be the Heat in 6. (H)
i think the mavs in howard have someone who can cover wade pretty well, but shaq is gonna be too strong for diop and too smart for dampier. then again, the heat will have absolutely no answer for dirk. it should be a great one...but im going with the heat in 6.

as for your comments--
Tim Thomas is nothing new. He was averaging the same numbers while in Miwaukee, Philly, and NY. He is just an example of a high draft pick never living up to his potential. He just so happens to be playing for a championship caliber team now. Otherwise he wouldnt be a blip on the NBA radar.
And I agree with Jermaine O'Neal's assesment also. Thats why I am hoping the Pistons develop Amir Johnson, Delfino, and Acker properly so we can compete against the young stars that are emerging (as you mentioned). I feel Amir can beome the same caliber of Jermaine.
We should have kept Darko. Ben could be expendable. Darko is a very good defensive player with scoring ability. I cant believe I just said that...but its true. Another example of a player with talent if given a chance to play real minutes and given confidence. He has done relatively well in Orlando.
plus, its not the bench's fault...they never got a chance to play anywayz (in the regular season i mean). maybe if rip decided to show up befoer the 4th quarter of yesterdays game (he was horrid pretty much the whole series), the pistons might be heading back to det. for game 7. i feel their run is done...
Mavs should close it out tomorrow night. If they do, im gonna pick the heat to win it in 7...
