Please Watch

January 19, 2006

Today PBS's NewsHour had an excellent report on the aftermath of the earthquake and what life is like for the poor there. It was a very moving report bound to bring tears to anyones eyes as you see little kids literally shivering in the freezing cold and sick with preventable diseases. The report also talks about the continued deaths from the cold and disease and the lack of proper shelters for these victims.

The report was by Dan Rivers and can be found at :

Please watch and forward to others to serve as a reminder for all of us of this world's many tragedies.

thanks for this video referral. video unfolds slowly but you see the children in these freezing conditions, with flimsy tents and preventable infections like conjunctivitis and scabies- so easily treatable if they had access to medical care. soo sad. wish there was more we could do to reach them and 'save' them.

i'm going to post this link with credit to you in other VEs so pple can be reminded of these bigger issues at hand rather than the trivial matters that tend to consume us. jak
