PORN vs VIOLENCE
So last night me and G (the hubby) went to the cinema and watched a film called 'wolf creek'.
The film was certified as an 18. There wasn't any nudy/sex/lov making scenes....but was 18 because of the grotesque violent scenes.
Anyway after coming out of the film me and G were discussing the 'merits' of films which show grotesque violent scenes compared to those which show 'hardcore porn', for want of a better word.
We came to the conclusion its pretty ironic that it's illegal to show 'hardcore' porn films in public.....and yet its prefectly ok to stick on an 18 rated certificate on a film which blantantly shows grosteque violence scenes of the most horrid nature....eg SAW/Texas Chain Saw Massacre/Evil Dead....to name, but a few.
My question is, is porn of any nature be it 'soft' or 'hardcore' really that much different in terms of showing it to an audience....as oppose to showing a film full of violence sex/killings etc.
Surely the latter is probably more 'influential' in terms of corrupting a mind and going out to do a similiar thing (copy cat) then going out and getting one's leg over by watching a porn film?

also when u get a bunch of desis in a room no one really listens - u cant at the pitch most people talk its impossible.
