I find this a fascinating research area; I'm part of a hospital volunteer program in energy-based healing, and, as a practitioner, am convinced it's not all bogus! When one reads about these things though, they can sound rather "out there", with rather bizarre, flowery descriptions and so on... I really wish the science to explain it all was more advanced. I've heard quantum physics researched is being hailed as the way to go with this.

Try the book "The Tao of Physics". It covers similar topics and iis an audacious attempt to unify eastern mysticism with western science. Even if there is a connection between science and mysticism, we are decades away of proving it. People are just speculating that there SHOULD be a connection.
Nothing mystical comes out of physics. I guess it's the semi-mystics who have the natural proclivity to find connections between mysticism and modern sciences.
