R Dubb is history

R.W. McQuarters is histroy. They released him. What the hell?!? Supposedly they feel they are deep enough in the cornerback position. Whatever .. I liked his veteran leadership and if youre gonna get rid of him, fine .. at least get something from his leave!! They didn't get a player or nothing. I don't get it ..

the bears havent had a decent QB since eric kramer. The "shane matthew's band" led them to a 13-3 season in 2001-2002 but that year was a fluke. i seriously think they are a lost cause, but L smith has given some hope. ill admit that ill jump on and off the bandwagon during their rollercoaster season. oh and RW mcquarters..that guy hasnt paid his mortgage..thats freakin hilarious for an NFL player..but then again i totally understand cuz their contracts arent guaranteed like MLB and NBA so i wouldnt be surprised if they had financial probz.

The afterword: The bears will bring many surprises and exceed expectations. The key is to beat the teams in our own division. Lets not forget that we are in a scrawny division, with an aging qb up north, and a defensive pop warner football team in the vikings; we shall have a good chance. Lets go out with effort and come through with victories. The team that sweats and bleeds more is the team that has a far more superior chance in winning the battle.

In conclusion, this seriously reminds me of the 94 Bears with Erik Kramer. We had a solid passing (who can forget Curtis Conway) and running game that helped us get to the 2nd round only to be murdered at the Bay. That team was extremely consistent throughout the year, which we have missed the last 3 years. Im looking forward to having some fun this year on Sunday afternoons with the "goose" on the sidelines.

Rex is scheduled to start and supposedly looks strong. But this is all minicamp talk and a real game situation changes everything. I'm still skeptical about his ironman ability to play. He tore his acl on a slide where noone hit him. Hopefully he can prove me wrong this year and be that "decent" qb they need. Aside from him, they had a weak offensive front line that gave up the most sacks in the league let alone not much protection or holes for the RBs. Hopefully with the new acquisitions, this year will be a different story. I think benson will come out gunning, i like his toughness and i think jones will come out running hard also. It will be interesting to see how they distribute the playing time if they both come out strong. I think the key is still the running game for the bears. Last year, in first down situations when they ran the ball they ended up getting negative yards or hardly any pickup. If they can constantly get to situations where they are at 2nd and 6 or less instead of 2nd and 12, 3rd and 15 situations then they are gonna do well. We know the defense will be up to the test.

Whats the word on rex?

Bears have a system in which we dont need a pro-bowl quarterback. We need a "decent" quarterback, our system consists of running and hardnose defense. we just need a decent qb who can throw when needed. A decent passing game = running the football consistently and efficiently. in the bears' current qb situation, a horrible passing game = a running game that is inconsistent. I believe that we have "potential" tools this year, we have a go-to reciever in muhammad, but we need one more(az-zahir hakim), jones(solid producer) and benson(he needs to have a rookie year that anthony thomas had), a solid and healthy defense, new coordinator(shea is gay, turner is not).

Defn! He had the most yards last year and was amongst one of the best in the entire league. It all comes down the the Bears QB situation.

basketballer = vince lombardi.
We still have our prize-package in charles(peanut) tillman. The bears have a good up and coming defense with great young talent. It was nice to have r-dubb returning punts; he was the fourth best in the nfl(9.9 yds per return) and had more touchdowns than most of our recievers. Well look on the bright side, randy moss is no longer in our division, so there aint no worries when it comes to stopping that kallu. Moss used to murder the bears' secondary. So, with moss gone, do you guys think that muhammad is, or has the best chance to be the best reciever in the frail nfc-north?

They didn't get anything out of him, true, but R-Dub couldn't play the corner position well last year. He just made big plays which helped us for two games. He provides leadership thats it. In closing, I believe that Angelo is doing the right thing with this team, he is taking out players that havent "shown up" such as Edinger. This is the NFL, you prepare a 7-8 months for 16 games, there is no time to waste.

Yah he was, most of the team sucked last year. It seems like the crappy bug bit everyone. They also just got rid of Edinger, but I feel not so bad as they got Brein now from the Jets.

i agree. sux. azumah rocks, but let's see what vasher can do. i know he had 5 interceptions last year on limited playing time. . .but he was also beat on quite a few plays if i remember correctly.
