Raising Daughters


Hey y'all, I was curious about something. Many of the women I've met in here seem to be pretty cool (i.e., mature, intelligent, ambitious...the whole package and a bag of chips) so I was wondering how are you going to raise your daughter(s). Yeah y'all are single now, but I'm supposing one day you will possibly want to be a mother as well. What cardinal rules, what traditions, what innovations, what golden rules will you pass down to your daughter(s)? What opportunities will you give them that you may or may not have had? Maybe some of us future dad's will learn something as well!

Yea i feel outkasts comments, i think most desi rents with the daughters do keep them basically locked up and limited to what they can do, my rents are pretty coo but with my sister she wasnt allowed to do to much until she got out of highschool, but i think when we become rents we will know whats up since we all grew up america, i think i'll be somewhat liberal with my daughter until a certain point, but of course she's gonna have to gain my trust, but i think with desi rents being they way they are, like the more strict they are and not allowing the daughters to do anything, the more sly they become and lie abuot doing things they may think the rents may not like...so i think giving the daughter some freedom is good until she messes up lol...o yea its gonna be more of my wifes job to watch out for the daughter, but of course i'll be on the backside on the downlow keepin my eyes always open makin sure she grows up properly! P:

Your daughter is safe with me.... by the time she's legal I'll probably be so old I'll wet myself trying to stand up or sit down.

Didn't you ladies have it tough growing up? Strict parents who kept you locked up in jail cells till you at least went to college? I never want to have a daughter. I know how guys are and I feel sorry for anyone that has a daughter. :-

Oh and Daddy's (at least my husband) will/should have every right to spoil her and treat her like a princess........ since I will be a little strict about spoiling kids, it will balance itself out.........the girls will learn to work hard as her own woman (she learn that from me) but also learn that a man should treat her nothing short of the ultimate love of his life and Queen of his Universe (she'll learn that from daddy).........besides when a girls relationship is amazing with her father, she will less likely look for a boyfriend or other man figure in her life
