Ramadan
Assalamu alaikum,
As Ramadan is fast approaching, I wanted to write a bit about it.
" O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you that you may guard against evil. " (2:183)
Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (PBUH) as having said: Take meals a little before dawn, because there is a blessing in taking meals at that time. (Agreed upon)
It is reported on the authority of Abu Huraira (RA) that the messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to say that Allah (SWT) said: Every act of the son of Adam is for him save fasting, which is done for my sake, and I will give a reward for it. Henceforth by Allah in whose hands is the life of Muhammad (SAW), the breath of the observer of fast is sweeter unto Allah (SWT) than the fragrance of Musk (MUSLIM)
It is reported that the Apostle of Allah (SWT) said: In Paradise there are 8 gates including a gate called "Rayyan". None but those who fast will enter it. (agreed upon)
Abu Huraira (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: When the month of Ramadan sets in, the gates of paradise are opened and the gates of hell are closed and the devils are chained. (Agreed upon)
Abu Huraira (RA) reports that the Messenger of Allah (SWT) said: Fasting is a shield. (Muslim)
Abu Sa'id al Khudri (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (RA) said: Whoever observes a fast for a day in the way of Allah, He will remove his face from hell to the extent of 70 years. (Muslim)
MashaAllah such wonderful hadiths. May Allah (SWT) acept our fasting and prayers during the month of Ramadan and every month. Ameen
