*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Kol sana w entom tayebeen :)

Insha'Allah you are all excited for the arrival of this Glorious Month. May Allah make us a witness to it, and guide us to become closer to him during this blessed month in intention and deed.

Insha'Allah this topic is for all Ramadan-related topics: Tips to help us attain Allah's mercy and forgiveness, ramadan traditions, yummy recipies, Ramadan memories, etc.

And I cannot help but end with the old old Ramadan adage..."Hatsoomo...wala zay kol sana" :)

Masha'Allah br. Ayman, your answer is correct, and with it you win the very "unofficial" Ramadan Competition P:

May Allah help increase you in knowledge and help benefit others with it.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Eid :)

Eid mubarak every body. Kol sana wentom 6ayebeen. So Muslima to answer your question: It is surat Al-Anbeya' 21:87: "And remember Zul-nun, when he departed in wrath: he imagined that We had no power over him! But he cried through the depths of darkness, "There is no god but Thou: glory to Thee: I was indeed wrong!"

To remind myself and all:

"Whosever performs the night prayer on the night of Al Qadr with Eamaan (firm belief) and seeking reward will have ALL his past sings forgiven." sadaq rasool allah (SAW).

this is no joke, this hadeath is talking about ALL past sins. I wouldn't mind a fresh start. would u? remember, odd nights of the last third of Ramadan.

salams

The following was passed at the masgid as ways to come out a better person after Ramadan. I liked it a lot :)

*Identify a habit in yourself that you dislike, and make it a goal to overcome it.

*Look around amongst brothers/sisters and identify a habit that you like, and make it a goal to acquire it.

(sorry for the delay)
Masha'Allah, the answer is correct P:

"Him" referred to Prophet Yunus (AS). It is an amazing story, subhan Allah.

And it is worthy to note that when he was swallowed by the whale, Allah said in the Qur'an that he could have remained in the whale until the Day of Judgment. However, nothing saved him except for recognizing that he had done wrong, and sincerely praising Allah and asking for forgiveness. He repeated the famous do3a2: "La Elah Ela Ant subhanak, eni konto men alzalemeen". Insha'Allah we can apply the same in our lives....and especially increasing our praise of Allah during the last 10 days of Ramadan.

Tayeb who knows which Sura referred to this incident and included this do3a2 in it (La Elah ela Ant Subhanak, eni konto men alzalemeen)/(Oh Allah, there is no God but You worthy of praise, I have wronged myself).

Masha'Allah, suret el sho3ara2 is correct P:
Everybody mistakenly thinks it's Al-3omran since it follows Al-baqara, but I guess these tricks don't phase you guys. Not that I should be tricking anyone especially in Ramadan, lol.

Okay, how about this:
(5) What is the highest number ever mentioned in the Qur'an? And what was the context?

Can anyone beat brother Ayman to this question? (A)

Surat al-hashr is correct sister Hoda (yeayy). Ma32oola noone knows the answer to the second question?

Gazaka Allahu khayran for keeping me in your prayers..that was touching to read. Rabena yebareklek and put all that is good in your way

Ha, who knows the answer to the question about the sura that has the second most number of verses next to Al-Baqara. Just open the Qur'an people, sheesh
:)

Okay..let's increase the difficulty level a bit...

(3) Which Sura in the Qur'an has 14 of Allah's names mentioned in it, which is the most in one single Sura?

(4) Suret el baqara has the most number of verses in it. Which has the second most number of verses in it? *tricky*

Yallah, 3awzeen some competition :)

Br. Ayman was right about Prophet Yusuf (AS), and sister Hoda was right about suret el Mujadalah as suret el an3am did not apply.

Yeayyyyy, one point for each P:

As for what you get br. Ayman,..well, you'll get a very sincere duaa' that Allah increase your knowledge and yesabetak fel dunya wal akhira :):):)

I'll be back with some more questions insha'Allah...

(2) Who's is the only prophet whose story in the Qur'an is mentioned in one piece, and unlike the other prophets whose stories are mentioned in different suras? (peace be upon them all)

"yes, when I was a kid and I was in Egypt. It was really hard. I used to fast until noon lol."

========

Awww...just like my little niece right now :P

Okay...back to a bit of Ramadan warm-ups insha'Allah:

The prophet (pbuh)said:

"There has come to you Ramadaan, a blessed month, in which Allah has made it obligatory to fast. During it the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the rebellious devils are chained"

~*~*

Subhan Allah..imagine how all of the devils are chained during this month? It is an amazing concept....so if we do something wrong (la qadara Allah), we can't blame it on the shaytan ;)

yes, when I was a kid and I was in Egypt. It was really hard. I used to fast until noon lol. It was tough thou. I started fasting the entire month from fajr to maghrib when it was in May. That was tough. Nothing better than ramadan in December. A very short day and very long night for qiyam and tahajud.
