As well as former porn star and acclaimed author of, "HOw to Make Love Like a P*ornstar" and I'm using the asterisk again b.c. evidently naseeb.com doesn't like my language, or pictures (they wouldn't allow me to post an Arnold from Different Strokes picture). lol. And no, i don't have a personal copy of her book.
I think we ought to nominate "MoonSighting Specialists"....people with acute moon senses, excellent night vision, training in earth and atmospheric sciences as well as planetary sciences and mathematics expertise...maybe psychics, astrologers, tarot card readers, 900 number psychic service providers, I think I'll call the one I see now on TV...alright guys, problem SOLVED!

I should b one to talk- I love to argue-it's genetic. And I DO want text, NaSeEbUn- just to give you a hard time--no no just joking. People always try to provide text and take literal interpretations- it happens in every religion apparently. Some believe their holy book tells them they are chosen people. rastafarian christians justify smoking herb cuz "it's in the Bible," and I think Muslims take our text way too literally. that's how people justify polygamy and women not being able allowed to do c*rap (naseeb won't let me post the word "parc" backwords...how funny is that!) without their husband's permission....I digress...OK OK OK, moonsight away...Al Roker's kinda losing it anyways!

arghhh how many times do i have to say that i agree with being able to predict moon sightings! However, there are specific guidelines in our religion that forbid us to make a call solely based on calculation (let me know if you want exact text). We can however use astronomy/calculation to facilitate a visual sighting - where to look and at what day/time.

The key issue we have here is that a new moon can be sighted in one region of the globe and not another (astronomical fact). That?s why we'll never agree on eid being 1 day since some people think the sighting has to be local; others think it can be anywhere as long as there are reliable muslim witnesses; and the rest just follow whatever Saudia does. But u are right, we just love to argue...maybe some of us are not use to striving for too much certainty in our lives.

We certainly can predict moonsightings although we can't predict the extent of damage casued by a hurricane, Naseebun. Kind of like, we can predict when there will be an eclipse and when there will b a full moon, but we can't predict how high the moon's gravity will cause the ocean waves to rise (though we can still make educated guesses). All I'm saying is, every year it's the same ridiculous business of guessing Eid...it's so primitive!
And i can't wait until they start arguing over when Eid is. I think it's just in our blood. We all love to debate about something. It's so much easier when it's a repeat issue that sprouts annually, right?
